Tent Rocks

Yesterday we went to a place called Tent Rocks just a few miles south of Santa Fe. It was just a few miles of hiking up to the top and then through the “cave loop”, but Frisco looked like he was going to die.

Smoke from Arizona?

It’s been hazy for days now. Turns out that this is not the typical haze. The fires in nearby Arizona push smoke into New Mexico. What limits the view in Santa Fe are the fires a few hundred miles away. Pretty amazing! They ran a satellite photo in the newspaper where one can clearly see the trail of smoke from Arizona reaching into New Mexico. And according to the newspaper it’ll stay like this for a while.

Housetour online

Want to see where we live? Take a look at the Photo > HouseTour which I added just today.

Rain!!!

It rained! Last night we had the biggest thunderstorm. There was little rain in the evening, but then this morning at about 5am there was another thunderstorm and this time with lots and lots of rain. Last night when I looked towards Los Alamos I could hundreds of flashes within minutes. Never seen so many flashes in such a short period. Can’t wait for the next thunderstorm.

More changes

It’s beginning to take shape and I have the basic site structure up. Still need to convert all the old stuff to the new format.

Hosting from home - how fun!

Found some time to finally make the changes to host kahunaburger from my home. It may take a while for the domain name changes to propagate, but some name servers are already aware of the change. If you read this it obviously made it to the one you’re using right now.

New printer arrived

New printer arrived! For years I used an Epson Photo 700 and was very happy with it. Recently it started developing some problems where the print quality did not match the quality of the photographs (I guess I could have replaced the print head). So I went out and bought a new Canon S9000 from Sparco. One of the reasons I went for this printer was the review of system on Michael Reichmann’s site here. Oh boy, it was really worth the money. Besides being about 10 times faster than the Epson, the quality is just amazing.
