The last few weeks

Thanksgiving, Red Eggs, Elvis and more are in the extended entry …

It’s been a few days since I posted an entry on kahunaburger and it’s time to show off some of those pictures that were taken over the last few weeks.

First milestone to share: Baby’s first bottle-feeding from daddy’s hands. Candice started to pump breast milk and we have a small shelf in the freezer full of frozen milk. Of course we had to check whether the baby would actually take the bottle. The picture below shows evidence that there were no problems at all. However, looking at the picture below, we are not sure whether we got the bottle with the milk or the one with the Pina Colada …

We had a lot of people here around Thanksgiving. First came Betty who stayed with us for a few weeks and was a tremendous help for all three of us (Thank you, again!); then Jim arrived and soon after Grandma and Aunt Georgiana; and for Thanksgiving Pam and John were also here. Nope - people did not stay at our house, but instead rented a vacation home on the other side of town. Here are a few pictures from Thanksgiving and the day before:

On 11/28 it was time for Pia’s Red-Egg-party. Traditionally (in China), woman and their babies spend the first six weeks in solitude and avoid contact with other people. After six weeks it’s time present the baby to the public. This is done with a Red-Egg-Party. Goggle will have a lot more information than I can provide here. It’s also time for babies first hair-cut (not the whole head) and that’s what you see in the first picture:

And then there a number of random shots which need to be displayed here. Pia has a beautiful bib (Laetzchen) saying “I love my daddy” (doesn’t she look like a monkey in the first picture?):

Auntie Pam is responsible for this outfit and we decided to put it on Pia before it is too small:

And then there is this picture of the little girl, dressed up in a reindeer outfit (complete with red nose). She had to wear this when we went to Manitou Galleries Christmas Party. Poor girl, I hope she never finds out, otherwise she’ll hate us forever …

Thank you Tobi for posting more pictures, I was starting to have feelings of withdrawal! I can’t get over how absolutely beautiful she is. I love her so much…I can only imagine what it’s like to be her parent and see her gorgeous face every single day…

    Love,
    Me
