Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving everybody! We had a nice day yesterday! First thing in the morning we walked the dogs in the nearby arroyo. This is one monster of an arroyo where the dirt walls are about 60 feet high at some points. It’s great, because the dogs can’t escape and can only run back and forth in the huge canal. And best thing of all: it starts right across from our property. This may become THE walking location for the future.

After coming back from the walk we finished the dishes that we had prepared for the party later on. Candice and I slaved in the kitchen the evening before and in the morning. We baked a pumpkin-cheescake sans the Bourbon that the sauce required. And we had also cooked a Butternut Squash Lasagna. By the way, both of them turned out extremely well!

After Pia’s lunch nap we all went over to Michelle and Jim’s house. They had prepared a traditional Thanksgiving feast with home-made turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes and gray. Very, very tasty!
Unfortunately all the action during the day made Pia “lose it” a little bit earlier than expected. So Candice took her home around 4:30pm and she was down in her bed just an hour later. I stayed a while longer, because Candice had thought she would return to the party after my arrival at home. However, once comfy at home she decided to not venture out again and instead enjoy the evening with Bride and Prejudice. Daddy fell asleep half way through the movie.

For all family out there, here’s the money-shot for the day:
