Dr. Strangelove: How Germans Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Flag
Months ago I wrote about a post where Germany and the USA were compared/contrasted. One of the items in there talked about the fact that it is ok for Americans to show patriotism and the American flag, while it is a big “no no” for Germans to do the same. How quickly times change. Just today “Der Spiegel” writes in “Dr. Strangelove: How Germans Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Flag” that Germans have turned around and that the country is plastered with black-red-gold all over the place. And all that thanks to the Worldcup. Let’s hope that this signals the end of the rut that has plagued the country for so long now.
