First snow - no school - what do we do?
As mentioned earlier, we got a lot of snow last week and on 11/30 after some heavy snows overnight, Pia and I listened to the news in the morning to find out what the traffic situation was going to be like. It said that all public schools had a two-hour delay, which meant that Pia’s pre-school (Kid’s Choice on St. Michaels Drive) was on delay as well. We used the opportunity to walk the dogs in the fresh snow and took it easy in the morning. Around 10:15am we left Tesuque and went to her school - only to find the place closed. All through the morning we were told there was a 2-hrs delay and now suddenly this. It became obvious that I would not get a lot of work done with Pia around, so I informed my boss and told him that I would have to take the day off.
As we were already in town, we decided to do our grocery shopping and run some errands. Early afternoon we were back home and after a number of unsuccessful attempts to make her nap, we needed something else to do. We started a fire in the kitchen, took some old newspapers, an old copy of the Santa Fe Reporter, kiddie scissors for Pia, big scissors for daddy, some glue and a big piece of blank paper. For two hours (!) straight we were busy cutting out all sorts of items from the papers and glued them onto the paper. Well, there was a lot of glue on pants, hands and dogs, but some actually ended up were it was supposed to be. The most exciting part was the burning of the artworks in the fire-place …

How cozy! Is this your new place? BTW, beware of dogs “behaving” like dogs then running around the corner to sniff the glue. Underground gluesniffing movement. I have the flu–can you tell I’m delirious? Hugs to all of you!
