BrainPOP - something to bookmark

I don’t remember how exactly I ended up at www.brainpop.com, but I immediately liked what I saw.

BrainPOP

BrainPOP offers quite a collection of Flash movies that introduce kids to all sorts of subjects ranging from Arts and Crafts over Math, Science all the way to Social Studies and Health. I looked at a few of the free animations and they are really well crafted and explain the matter in simple terms. Just take a look at the sample Math-animation that talks about the Fibonacci sequence.
Besides the free lessons they also have a subscription option that allows access to every single animated educational video.

Going to keep that bookmarked and will run a few lessons by Pia later on …

In a previous life I was a 4th grade teacher. After that I was a K-6 tech lab instructor. Brainpop was an essential tool for me. They were making these incredibly effective animation specifically for their website years before any other company got a clue.

Most of me is thrilled for them that they have flourished fo so long and I wish them all the best. On the other hand, I remember vividly when it was free… all of it.
