Tomb Raider Anniversary – wow
Yes, every once in a while I’m using my computer for entertainment purposes. Half-Life 2 is installed and just the other day I downloaded a copy of “Tomb Raider Anniversary” (TRA) via Steam, Valve’s shell for all their games. Pia also likes games and sometimes she sits on my lap and demands some action on the screen (she likes the exploding barrels in Half Life 2 the most).
I was a big fan when the original Tomb Raider came out and enjoyed exploring the lost worlds with Lara. That was about 10 years ago.
Things have changed dramatically since then. I remember looking at a 320×240 screen with pixels that made my eyes hurt. TRA now runs in 1920×1200, hardware-accelerated (via Nvidia’s GeForce 7950GT) with beautiful details. Pretty amazing how the video-output has improved over the last 10 years.
