Canada overlook near Tent Rocks
Yesterday morning I went hiking at the “Tent Rocks” again. It was a beautiful morning and with skies being slightly overcast we had the perfect setting. After 2 hours at Tent Rocks we took the 3.5 miles of rough road up to the Canada Overlook.
Shahram had inspired me to give Photoshop CS3′s “Photo Merge” function another try. Without tripod and proper alignment I took 5 shots at the overlook and threw them at Photoshop back home. Here’s the result from yesterday noon. Pretty nice in my opinion. Click on the image to get to the 1.8MB high-res version:

True Beauty.
The subject and your photography.
As always.

Great photo. I need to remember to take panoramic photos in portrait vs. landscape orientation. Is that what you did? The clouds look really nice.

Try using “Autostitcher”, it’s freeware and works fantastic (when I use my Canon 350D it even smooths the transitions of different exposures so you don’t get that weird band of color.)

Curtis – the autostitch software you mentioned is not “freeware”. One can download a “free demo”, but has to pay for full functionality. So, let’s call it shareware shall we?
