Let your kids do dangerous things
“Gever Tulley, founder of the Tinkering School, talks about our new wave of overprotected kids — and spells out 5 (and really, he’s got 6) dangerous things you should let your kids do. Allowing kids the freedom to explore, he says, will make them stronger and smarter and actually safer.”
Can’t agree more. Things were completely different when I grew up in the Bavarian country side …

A couple of others. Teach them to shoot. (safely) if done correctly, they learn safety, responsibility and that guns are not toys. The Boy Scouts and the 4H used to teach it. I think it makes kids far less likely to ‘play’ with a firearm, helps with concentration and hand eye coordination and they get great feedback. (holes in a target)
Also, take them hiking/camping. Lots of skills and the ability to add a hand axe to the knife skills.
Great video. I’m happy to say that my daughters did all of the suggested things when they were young. All kids should be given a multi-tool and/or a knife as soon as they can handle it.
