Psyched

Once a year Adobe organizes a “Tech Summit” at it’s head quarters. People from all over the world are flown to San Jose and have the pleasure to be bombarded with information about what’s happening at the company. Even as a remote worker, I feel that I’m generally good informed about things going on at the company, but this event provides an in-depth, hands-on view that you can’t get over email or by looking at a team’s wiki-site.
General sessions are following by detailed nose-dives into specific technical areas. Add to that mix world-class speakers (like Geoffrey Moore, Werner Vogels for example) and fun events in the evenings and you have an alpha-geek dream event.
However the most important effect of this yearly “Tech Summit” is that you leave the event psyched and energetic. I’ve seen so much cool stuff this year that I really can’t wait for some of those projects to be released to the general public. I wish I could say more, but you just have to take my word that there are some pretty exciting things in the pipeline.
The shot above was taken during a break of the “Sneak Peeks” session around 9pm on Tuesday evening. “Sneak Peeks” is one of those fun events where different product teams show off cool new ideas and have 5 mins to convince the audience that their piece of technology is the coolest thing this year. A few mins before the shot was taken, there were about 1500 people in the room.
