It’s broken

Note to Pia: if your parents tell you that your actions will ultimately result in pain and broken bones, you will believe us from now on! Sorry you had to learn it the hard way, but it was bound to happen sooner or later. It’s just a broken elbow and it’ll be fine in a few weeks. At least you have a cool cast now where all your friends can draw on.

    Oh nooooooooooo!

When I saw the picture, I was equally:

    a) feeling sad for Pia

    b) feeling bad for you to have to see your little girl go through this

    c) thinking what a great job you did capturing the emotion of a little girl with a broken elbow

    d) thinking that I am DEFINITELY going to be sharing this story & photo with my own little girl who hears me say such things all the time also!

Do I see the slightest hint of remorse on this lovely little face? Ah, T, you’ve done a great job of capturing it, perhaps all the better to remind a little one later of the perils of jumping off kitchen counters and such… ;)

Yes, very frightening for a little girl and her daddy (or mommy). Kudos to you both for prevailing… :)

Oh, my goodness! I’ve never seen Pia look so sedate and forlorn. What happened????

Pia decided to jump from my bed (which is really low) and wanted to dance to some music on TV (Doodlebops). Somehow she tripped while getting off the bed and I believe she landed on her elbow or tried to catch her weight with just one arm. I think I actually heard it snap. He left upper arm is broken just above the elbow.
