What a soap opera!

Even if I only believe 10% of what is being said at sites like Daily Kos or Huffington Post, it still makes for a heck of a read and makes me chuckle. As far as I can tell, the Reps are digging their own grave right now. Have you noticed how little it takes from the Democratic campaign to derail the elephants’ train? Picking Palin as the running mate may have looked like a good idea initially, but in 2008 it is becoming increasingly difficult to hide the skeletons in your closet and Palin’s closet seems to be a spacious 3-bedroom house. The net makes information (be it right or wrong) instantly accessible all over the world (not that anybody outside of the US actually cares about this farce) and even the slightest problem is amplified to deafening levels.
Intrade thinks that there is a 14% chance that Palin will actually withdraw her VP nomination (it traded up as high as almost 20%).

On a separate note: did anybody see the MSNBC coverage of Bush’s address to the RNC last night? It aired right around “America Got Talent” and I was flipping channels and happened to stop on NBC when the president came on. I decided to watch it for a while and saw the strangest thing that you can possibly see on TV. Bush decided to stay in DC and addressed the convention via satellite. You saw a rosy-cheeked (is he drinking again?) head praising the virtues of the presidential candidate. The problem was that the audio from the convention was missing. Bush makes a joke, makes a statement that makes the crowds go wild and all you see is his funny face and … SILENCE. Most bizarre thing ever! I actually found it so bizarre that I instructed the DVR to record the scene. I think somebody at MSNBC got into serious trouble for this ….
