This little piggie turned five …
This is really old news, as in pre-Obama time news: Pia’s 5th birthday was on October 25th. She looks like she’s six years, she is as tall as some seven year olds, but she’s smart enough to pretend she’s only 4 when she wants to. The German grandparents sent a big package with all sorts of clothing items (some of them pictured above) and, of course, a load of candy that makes the local dentist happy. Thanks Oma and Opa!
We celebrated her birthday at her gymnastics studio Tumbledown. Both of her parents were smart enough to either lose the camera or bring a camera without memory card – duh! I am still waiting for some photos that somebody else took during the event. As soon as they arrive I’ll add them to kahunaburger.
Pia also went riding on Katherine’s horse Scout a few times and she really seems to enjoy it. Perhaps we need to revisit those riding lessons one more time. Nothing keeps kids more out of trouble than having to take care of an animal on a regular basis …

Do you have to remind me about that horrible time, Schorsch? It still hurts to remember how I was teased in swimming class when the other kids said it was not fair that I wore natural fins
