That’s the forecast for this Saturday. “Brilliant Sunshine” – I like the sound of that.

The reason why I care about Saturday’s weather? Very early that day Pia and I will head to Albuquerque and go on a balloon ride. My dear brother gave that ride to me as a present.
I had tried to take Pia on a balloon ride before, but all the operators I contacted had age restrictions between 7 and 10 years. She was really disappointed when she heard about it. The plan for Saturday was to get a sitter for the kid while I was floating through the air.
I decided to give my operator another call to check if there was enough space for Pia and if she would be allowed to join us. Luckily that guy only has a height restriction of 50″ and the age does not matter. They want to make sure that kids can see over the side of the basket and don’t climb up on it. Barefooted the little princess is 49″, which was close enough for him.

And the best of it: I only hinted about an “adventure” next Saturday, but I have not told her any details yet. I think I’ll keep it that way and make her only realize what’s going on when we park next to the balloon …
