Yes, I'm also using a ScanSnap scanner. The setup has changed slightly since I posted the message above 7 years ago. Now all my documents are scanned directly to a location inside the Google Drive (Google Docs) folder. Google will index the information and I can use Google Docs search to find documents. For offline usage, I also use Acrobat Pro to generate a full-text index in the same Google Drive/Docs location.
The ScanSnap is a wonderful device - go and get one - you won't be sorry!

Hi Rob – you can read some of the details about my setup here: <a

At first, I thought you had web cams set up and that's how you noticed, but it was probably Oakley that snapped those pics.
I recall you mentioned before your scan-to-PDF solution, and again, it comes in handy for you, right on! I'm curious about the details of that. What scanner are you using to process all the incoming paper? I just happened to see on Boing Boing Mark Frauenfelder talking about a cool scanner (thought it kinda sounds like an advertisement).

Are you using something like that?
And how are you doing the full document indexing? That sounds cool, and I'd like to do that too, but unsure how to get started.
Thanks in advance for any tips, and again, sorry about your situation.

Holy Kahuna, Hamburlar! What a mess! Sorry to hear.
