Bill and Cody

Bill and CodyEarly Sunday morning we meet Bill and his horse Cody at a stable in El Dorado for a photo shoot. Bill has seen some of the pictures from my digital camera and was interested in getting some “action” shots of him on his horse. Today is the day.

Bill Manns is THE authority for everything “cowboy”. He has authored and published quite a lot of books in this area (just do a Google search on him and you’ll understand what I’m talking about) and also appears to be living the life he’s writing about.
When we meet him this morning at 06:30am (well, it’s actually 6:45am, but that’s a long story), he’s all dressed and waiting for us at the stables. Cody is also ready for the ride.

We take the car just about a mile away from the stables towards the rising sun. It’s a beautiful morning and I start taking pictures from the car while Bill is riding right next to the road.

As we reach the right spot, Candice, Frisco and I have to continue on foot while Bill checks the area for the “right location”. It’s a small hill and Bill thinks it would be good to take some pictures as he dashes up the hill (it’s too dangerous to have Cody run down the hill).
I have to admit that we really get some excellent “action” and “portrait” shots of the two of them.

I continue taking pictures as we go back to the stable an hour later. Cody has a small scratch and the blood on his ankle is proof for that.

I really enjoyed taking the pictures of the two of them and immediately start working on them, when I come home that Sunday.

Thanks Bill, for giving me the opportunity.

Below are a few of the pictures I like most (there are a lot more good ones in the whole set).
