Come and gone

Last BBQAfter three weeks in the US, my parents left for Germany on Sept 22nd. Here are the last few pictures from their stay.

When I posted the first entry on Sept 6th, my parents were just here for a few days. After staying a week in Santa Fe they went on their round-trip and visited almost all the surrounding states in a 2500 mile monster road-trip which lasted a bit over a week.
They called us from the road and told us how beautiful everything was - damned, they’ve seen a lot more than we have!

After spending some time on the road they came back to Santa Fe to spend the last leg of their trip with us. Around the same time my brother Marcus and his girlfriend Elke arrived.

So here are the last few pictures from the family visit to Santa Fe.

Dinner with the whole Hoellrich clan:

My brother and his girlfriend had taken their tent with them, because they did not know exactly how much space there would be at our home. Just kidding. The tent was wet from the nights before they arrived in Santa Fe and needed some drying in our driveway.

And Elke seems to enjoy the afternoon sun, while the dog is checking the area for lizards and rabbits …

On 9/20 Sieglinde, Peter, Elke, Marcus, Candice and Frisco went up to the ski basin to take a look at the changing colors. Of course I had to stay at home to slave away.

On their last evening in town we had another BBQ and to celebrate the day, the dog got a huge bone which kept him busy for quite some time. He especially liked the bone marrow and decided to throw up the stuff at 3am in the morning the next day. Lucky enough Candice managed to drag him into the bathroom where the tiles make it extremely easy to get rid of puke.

The next morning 9/22 Candice and I took my parents to Albuquerque airport, where they left early for Dallas, Zurich and Munich.

Mom, the orchid is doing fine …

… and here is the painting I was talking about:

All in all I think everybody had a blast and enjoyed the stay out here. Thanks again for coming!!!
